How Image to PDF Works

This tool uses the pdf-lib JavaScript library, running entirely in your browser, to create a PDF document and embed each image as a separate page. No image data is uploaded to any server — conversion happens locally, making it safe for personal photos, scanned documents, and confidential files.

Supported Formats

JPG (JPEG) and PNG are fully supported. WebP is supported in modern browsers. JPG images are embedded as JPEG (smaller PDF); PNG images as PNG (larger but lossless). For the smallest output file size, convert PNGs to JPG first if image quality allows.

Page Size Options

  • A4: Standard globally — each image scaled to fit within the A4 page with margins.
  • US Letter: Standard in North America.
  • A3: Large format — good for posters and wide images.
  • Fit to image: Each PDF page is exactly the image's pixel dimensions at 72 DPI. No scaling.

Common Uses

  • Convert scanned document photos into a single PDF for email submission
  • Merge multiple screenshots into a PDF report
  • Submit identity documents as a single PDF where required
